Meet your photographer
Hey, I'm Krysten! I am so happy you are here having a look around at the work that I have poured my heart and soul into. First, I'd love for you to get to know a little about me... As a traditional artist for most of my life, I try to incorporate artistic elements into my work at every opportunity to create something truly unique and special. Expect a good sense of humor, an experience, and an ease in the process from beginning to end. I love creating what I call a light-hearted yet luxe experience for my clients, catering to those that have traditionally felt awkward or uncomfortable in front of the camera... because I totally get it.
I am a proud mom to a little girl, the absolute joy of my whole life. I hope to leave lots of photos for her to reminisce over as she gets older, but sadly, I'm not in many of them. As her mother, I see the everyday moments that are magic to me and that I can grab a quick cell phone picture of. I have hundreds of beautiful moments captured with her Father and relatives but nothing more than a few struggling selfies of the two of us. This is why I enjoy focusing on Motherhood in my photography work. I love gifting fellow Moms with artwork and memories that they never have the opportunity to have for themselves. It breaks my heart to think of my daughter looking back upon these images and the memories we've made and not see me anywhere. Moms are often giving so much to their families, take this opportunity to celebrate YOUR MOTHERHOOD. Let's give you and your children the photographs that you have wanted for so long.
About the Studio & Beyond
Colortone Photography Studio is a Lifestyle and portrait studio located on Main Street of historic downtown Goshen, New York. We serve the scenic Hudson Valley region in studio and beyond. Prepare for a personalized luxury yet light-hearted experience from the moment you first inquire about your session. Each image is an individual piece of art that tells the story of this season of your life. Let's capture these moments for you in a relaxed, creative and memorable way.
What to Expect...
Expect to have everything you need for a successful and visually stunning session prepared for you. Once booked, we can begin planning your custom photo session.
Studio:
A comfort room for you or your family to enjoy as needed during your session. Glam studio for hair, makeup and wardrobe and primary studio beautifully decorated to provide the perfect backdrop for your lifestyle sessions. Weather maternity, newborn, family, or glam; this studio provides the space to create stunning artwork.
Wardrobe:
There are many aspects that go into a successful photoshoot. One of those aspects is outfits. I believe outfits can play an important part in the overall look of the images. When you choose outfits you love and feel good in, you will love the images even more. It allows you to be in the moment with your loved ones instead of worrying about how uncomfortable the outfits are, or how you might portray yourself in them.
I have several resources to help you find and coordinate outfits to save you stress and time. I provide a style guide to give you tips on what to wear and what not to wear, and also offer my interactive styling resource, Style & Select.
Style & Select is an interactive & shoppable styling resource that shows you hundreds of photo worthy tops, bottoms, dresses, and accessories pulled in from well known retailers to give clients, like you, an easier way to figure out what the wear. You just pick your favorites and shop from the Style Board email! My client closet items are located on the results page for you to select from, as well. If you have something you have found online or that you love in your own closet, feel free to upload an image into the custom upload button so you can see how it coordinates with the rest of the families selections.
Once you have selected your favorites, you can then email yourself the styling board and you will have links directly to the retailer for purchasing. I will receive a copy of your results so I can assist with any changes or offer advice. Check out the link below for a great video that explains the process.
